And a conversation must be had about significant others. And how they are off limits. I cannot have them fighting with each other like children, which is what it will come to if Person A picks on Significant Other B. I do not have the time, or the inclination to settle petty squabbles. And so the law will be laid down.
If anyone tried to hurt Bastien in any way, they would be dead before the next day came.

I have found a way to get my hands on some Dragonpox. The question is - to spread it or not to spread it. The school would be an ideal venue for such an experiment. It would just be a matter of choosing a time. And a way of dissemination. Although once a few people have it...
I must also prepare a potion that would prevent contamination, for those I don't wish to get ill.

That was a good show yesterday. A good way to start the year. I am pleased, for the most part.
However, once again, before the Snitch was caught, we were trailing in points. And we can't get sloppy, depending on the Snitch being in our favour. Which means Chasers need to score more points. And our Keeper needs to keep the other team from scoring. Beaters need to do the same. An eye should always be kept on the other team's Seeker of course - but watch the Chasers as well.
I have some ideas to work on these things.

I think I've decided to forgoe independent politics in favour of entering the Ministry. There's much more chance for control there. The Minister can do so much. Much more than he actually does.
Which means someone else needs to be Minister. Namely me.
The question becomes, which Department to enter first? International Cooperation would give the farthest reach, in a global sense. Law Enforcement would be convenient to cover up certain deeds. Department of Mysteries has many uses, to be sure.
I'll give it thought over the next few months. And find out which would be the most beneficial.
Also, looking into means of biological warfare. Quite apt, these days.

So much to do now that the new year is here and becoming well established. No time to lose.
Headway is being made at gaining contacts at Beauxbatons, as well as the Ministry. I'm considering whether or not to extend the reach beyond even France, but I think for now, it is most wise to stay within the country. Fools reach too far too fast and then crash.
I managed to acquire a few more pieces over the holidays. The book that Marco procured from me is particularly interesting. It may be what I think it is. And it has some obscure spells that will become very useful.
I am contemplating adding to our ranks. To bring in a few more Sevenths Years, perhaps even a Sixth, to be here when many of us graduated. But I am particular as to who and it is difficult to find someone suitable. So many people are too caught up in their petty dramas and childish games.
Pygmy Puffs are surprisingly resiliant.

Here we are. 2010. I will return to the school this weekend, with a few new supplies and armed with a few new spells I have been working on over the holidays.
This term will lend itself to practice. So many unknowing, oblivious subjects to be had at the school. And as the school year ticks away, my final year of school, they become all the more ripe for the picking.

A new year rolls closer. 2010 will be one of much progress, albiet largely of an underground nature. Already the steps are being taken.
Although I must say, I am disappointed, thus far, in a few of my ranks. But perhaps the new year will bring change in that regard.
I am, however, quite pleased with a few. Several show great promise.

There is a book I need you to retrieve while home for the holidays. It is called Les Arti Nege. It is rumoured to be a translation of one of Morgan Le Fay's spellbooks. Or a translation of a translation. I'm curious to see if this is the case, and even if it's not, well, it will be an invaluable book.
It is currently in the possession Guerino Rufino Provenza, who lives in Rome.

Ah, to see the school in such an uproar. Over a single death. It is quite amusing, an unexpected bonus.
But the ring, the ring is the true bonus. Marco was better than expected. I must take advantage of the fact that he will be in Italy over the holidays. Italy is such a wealth of magical items and books, just waiting to be liberated, as we said.
Between that, and my steps with Mael towards ingratiating ourselves into Andre's favour, the coming year will be starting itself off on the right foot.
And a new meeting place to Christen, as it were.

Things are Progressing. Mael and I met with the younger André on the weekend and expressed out 'interest' in his business. He will be far too easy to manipulate. And with the right alterations, his political career will soar higher than it would have already. All under our careful guidance, naturally.
There are a few things I require. Marco will be able to help with getting one, I believe. A trip into the Restricted Section will get another. As for the others... we shall see.

How inconvenient. I had to put a Silencing Charm on myself. But I had about a dozen people tailing after me every time I opened my mouth.
So I'm not saying anything for the rest of the day for risk of singing and enspelling the entire castle.
It is particularly disturbing with children. And Professors.
